MLB
-Players with >= 50IP or 150 AB
-Can only be acquired during the MLB draft, via trades or via the weekly FA Bidding.
-Releases are subject to the 50% Buyout rule.
*Each team enters inaugural MLB draft with 25 roster spots but can acquire/carry up to 30 players during the season.*
Prospects
-Prospects are players with < 150 AB /50 IP in the MLB
-Can only be acquired during the MiLB draft, FYPD draft, Rule 5 Draft, IFA bidding or via trades.
-These players carry a cost of $0.2 and releases are free.
*Each team enters the inaugural MiLB draft with 20 roster spots.*
Once a prospect passes the AB/IP threshold they are then considered an MLB player for the purposes of their roster eligibility. However, that player's contract will not have to be determined until the offseason of the year in which they become an MLB player.
*if a player has been demoted in real life to MiLB they can be put in Minors on Fantrax as long as they are demoted, they still are counted towards MLB roster on the spreadsheet and must be promoted as soon as they are in real life.
Rosters will be comprised of three types of players:
Minor Leaguer-A player that has yet to record 150 career AB or 50 career IP at the major league level.
Prospect-A player in Year 1 through Year 3 of his career after surpassing his minor league eligibility
Major Leaguer-A player in Year 4 through Year 6 of his career after surpassing prospect status.
Any of the three types of players can be in your starting lineup (as long as they are active on an MLB roster at the time). Any of the three can be on your bench. But only Minor League players may be in your minor league spots.

**25 IP minimum per week for ERA and WHIP to count**

You must start players who are healthy and are not allowed to just leave them on the bench.
Must fill roster holes during offseason/inseason FA to atleast attempt to field a serviceable team while at same time looking towards the future.
Pre-Arbitration and Arbitration
The season after a prospect eclipses 150AB/50IP, they begin 2 seasons of Pre-Arbitration in TWIB. That players Year 1 contract (Pre-Arb) will be $0.5. Year 2 of Pre-Arb will be $1. Then the player will have 3 seasons of arbitration (Arb., Arb., Arb.,). Please refer to Cots for the arbitration contract that the player signed. If a player bypasses the arbitration years and signs a MLB contract, that player will be assigned that contract (as listed in Cots.)
After the last season of Arbitration (and the player has not signed a real-life contract) the player becomes a FA or can be resigned with a tag of their choice (Franchise, Restricted, or Flex Tag).
In TWIB, Arb years (not the first two Pre-Arb seasons when the contracts are $0.5, $1) are team options. TWIB will allow the owner to decline to offer arbitration to a player during the arbitration years. If the team does not offer arbitration to the player, he becomes a Free Agent. A reason an owner might decline to offer a player arbitration is the real-life arbitration contract will be too high for the teams budget, or the player signs a real-life contract (as listed in Cots) and the team does not want to assume that real-life contract for salary cap reasons.
MiLB players are the only players who can cost $0.2. If a player passes 150/50 during the year, that contract remains $0.2. That player then has to be called up the following season and that will be considered the player's first season of Pre-Arb, year 1 with a $0.5 contract, and have MLB status (must be moved to your MLB roster).
When Franchise tagging young controllable players it lines up as Pre-Arb 1/Pre-Arb 2/Arb 1/Arb 2/Arb 3 correlates to Year 1 - $0.5/Year 2 - $1.0/Year 3-5 Arb., Arb., Arb.
